Hoarse

whew, can't believe i went to sing karaoke twice this week. almost went three times.

first visit was on tuesday after SCD practice. went with two beautiful (haha) ladies, lin qun and jingwen. jingwen said she got some membership card so i thought, hmm why not? and i haven't sang anything since the end of the Sem 1 exams.

hence about 11pm the three of us went down to Clementi's Party World KTV. at that time, i didn't know that singing at such an hour was a big mistake. it is freaking expensive!!! the original price was $79 for 3 pax. hell ex!! as we were about to leave, the owner offered us a package of $41 for 2 hours. Still not very good, but what the hell, we just took it..

man, the girls' voices are definitely soprano (well they are girls after all, and i love to hear feminine voices, haha). and they were good, whereas my voice was at least two octaves lower than them.

after that sent the gals back to hall. got stuck in hall cos the stupid taxi driver pressed the meter once the girls alighted (before i could say i wanted to go to jurong east). spend a night in sheares hall, block a, lounge. probably the only chance i could have.

Total expenditure: estimated at about $15 for the karaoke and $0 for the taxi fare. Oops still have to return jingwen her $3.70.

then the second visit came on thursday with the guys and... muifong. originally our female singers included the reknowned xuanwei and xin ran, but due to... last minute arrangements they had to back out from the day's singing. shunji was there too. thank god that muifong was in a good mood or something (haha i've never seen her in a bad mood anyway), she sang to her heart's content and boy, she was good. Well guess could expect nothing less from a choir gal.

shunji was especially roaring with his Beyond songs, most of which i tried to sing along but it was in cantonese, and the rest just listened. i loved the renditions of "Paradise" and "hai kuo tian kong" (of which i performed in cantonese, surprisingly) which was performed with great gusto.

of special mention was yijiang. he sangs a big portion of the songs at the end, even some songs i dunno... if it wasn't for this visit probably no one knew he had such talent.. haha
