Lazy Sunday
Nothing much to do today. Went for
meeting with Rotaract Club members at 2pm, Kent Ridge Hall, about the 3 wks voluntary trip to Bago City, Phillippines. I was the first one there, and i didn't really interact much with the organising committee there until Grace, fellow pharmacist and volunteer, came along.
Guess i was still.. undecided on whether to go. Many reasons. The money... whether i had time.. my illness.. the company. sigh...
Anyway, we had a mini ice-breaking session and was quite surprised to know they had only about ten members (i expected 50?) joining, five of us from chingay :p. Can't really remember the names of the other people, though. Memorable was, there was this really cute soft toy which one of the org com members that would scream "F**k you!! and other vulgarities" from its... speaker when you pressed its nose. This soft toy was given to anyone who wanted to speak, so any person who wanna interrupt would get a obscene vulgarity from the soft toy. Gets the message across. Hmm i think i should get one of those for wang, leo, ws...
They got down to business after showing us vid for the previous clip, etc. Astonishingly i was assigned logistics head, damn!! Means chief sai kang warrior. Well during the interview i volunteered for log but didn't expect to do this shit. haha. anyway, duties were quite slack: to get the baggage across, etc. We have to contact this freight company and
beg them to ship our stuff there for air. Well.. guess we're gonna have to beg tens of thousands more people so lets start now.
Meeting ended about 5pm, i came home admist a pouring shower and prepared to go to CCK to
get my contacts done. Well i was a first timer, so the thing was, before they gave me the contacts they had to teach me how to wear the damn thing. So there i was among not one but
two curious families (there was another teenager guy who was a first timer) who looked at me although i was some circus freak, trying to hyperextend my eyelids and present my eyeball (yucks!! one thing i can never see is the eye) to these curious people.
can tell u, it is
damn hard to get one contact lens in. took about 15 mins for each. but got it in finally. think by accident. the trick is to completely shove your eyelids away using both middle fingers to reveal about most of the anterior eyeball, then with an index finger shove the lens into place, blink and hopefully the thing focuses itself.
getting them out was much easier. shove the eyelids away, then use thumb and index finger to peel off the goddamn lens.
of course. make sure the darn lens is somehow saturated with saline solution or risk getting conjunctivitis. grr. for the sake of beauty.
