Yet another day in NUS
Today is Monday, 16th Jan, 2005. Woke up at 0600 hours. Very groggy. First thing to do was to turn on the laptop, then ate my carbamazepine. Haven't brushed teeth yet.
Yep. Cos of the crazy (aptly named) Prof Seow, Dr Seow or what, cos he is not an assistant professor, about 40-50 pharmacy people had to get up at 0600 hours TODAY to bid for their precious slots for LSM practical.
Yes, because Junice told all the pharmacy people sometime before this that there was to be only
one LSM practical slot, which is wednesday. So everyone happily scheduled their wednesday afternoons for the slot. Then Seow said that there were two, and the thing was that you can't fit all the pharmacy people into one slot.
Hence the mad rush by pharmacists to take the same practical slot with their friends. reminds u of 1000 people camping outside a departmental store offering freebies to the first
x people, the stampede under way.
I thought of waking up at 0615 since the night before i slept quite late, around 1am plus. Well luckily i didn't, cos by that time more than half of the desired slots had already been taken. Imagine: 15 slots gone for every 5 minutes.
Then some people of course didn't get their slots. Cos they woken up too late. So fingers started to point around, and it came back to poor Junice... well, which referred the fault back to the NUS authorities. well i guess it's more of the management's fault but then the
tai ji goes on... poor gal man, gets arrowed here and there. (well typical NS shit.)
Came 10am for pharmacy prac lecture. as usual its the quiet lecturer from National Cancer Centre which
words i can't really hear cos i was sitting at the back and the fella never even did a mike test, or worse still she didn't on the mike and half the time i was "wtf is the lady talking about" especially those bits which i had wanted to know, like the ethics, or how much she earns, or about the part on euthanasia. So i, CH, jev, and zw were laughing along as we recalled days of army "ethics" as she went through the 12 ethics of a pharmacist. What we talked:
.
Btw, only one army ethic: Do it, but don't get caught. -Anon.
Another army ethic: when in doubt, reach for the referral letter. -anon.
